Re-connection to the earth

Tuscany, and in particular the Natural Reserve of Pigelleto, is the perfect spot where to re-connect your body and mind to nature. The months of September and October are the sacred period for the habitants of this land because is the harvesting time for the most known Tuscan products such as CHESTNUTS, TRUFFLES, MUSHROOMS, GRAPES for the wine and OLIVES for the oil.

During this week of training in Yoga, Meditation, Creative Workshops and Vegetarian cooking, we will visit some Italian local organic farms to better understand their local world and the work hidden behind the products we delight with. We will also be in contact with the local producers ready to share their love and passion for this land. Our home,il Roccone, a secular house, is in the middle of the Natural reserve of Pigelleto, well known for its big chestnut forest and wild fauna.

We will spend an afternoon harvesting the chestnuts and mushrooms that we will learn to cook thanks to the cooking classes of our vegetarian chef Maria Ramirez. Maria, chef at Quixotic in Paris, has prepared a special menu to delight our palates during the week and she will teach us how to prepare healthy and balanced meals with the organic local products. Francesca Lo Cascio, designer and yoga teacher, specialised in the body energy, will guide you during your yoga and meditation practice together with Carolina Daza, our fabouleuse YALA Ashtanga yoga teacher.

Every morning we will start with a detox ritual followed from a meditation and Pranayama (breathing techniques) and bioenergetical class guided by Francesca. After this internal body cleansing we will practice with Carolina Daza a two hours yoga Asthanga/Vinyasa class, with a particular attention on alignment. Beyond this daily routine we will enjoy Francesca’s teaching during 3 evening Yin yoga classes, created to deeply relax and stretch your body.

This part of the region is also very known for its water's thermal proprieties. We will learn how to prepare natural cosmetics with the products of this land and we will spend and afternoon to the picturesque village of Bagno Vignoni enjoying its 5 stars SPA

During our outdoor visits we can observe the quietness of local life and the hospitality of the habitants of Orvieto, , known for its cultural heritage, fascinating traditions and an exciting life-style, and Piancastagnaio, where we will participate to the most important celebration of chestnuts harvesting in the Country, dining in a typical wine cave and enjoying the traditional local (vegetarian) meals.

Francesca Lo Cascio and Carolina Daza will guide you during the Meditation and Yoga classes. The classes are mainly held in English with the possibility of classes available in other languages according to our guests needs (French, Spanish or Italian).

Italian architect and interior designer, Francesca expresses her creative flair in her job as much as in her everyday life. Francesca found the spark of her passions nurturing inner balance and a healthy lifestyle based on yoga, natural eating and creativity.

Her yoga story started in Thailand in 2002, where she studied Hatha Yoga in Pai, and progressively refined her studies in Vinyasa Yoga in India at Richikesh's Tattvaa Centre, in Paris with Mika de Brito and Gerard Arnauld and in the United Stated with Paulie Zink, founder of Yin yoga. She studied the Chakra balancing technique with Jana Johnson in Bali.

Deeply inspired by the work of her teachers Dr. Anodea Judith and Selene Vega, she recently completed an intensive training in the Phsycology of Chakras. Currently she focuses her attention and studies around phsychology, bioenergy and movement.

In 2014 she decided to create Yala Collective to connect with others, while sharing passions and evolving her vision and love for living. -
